You have a passion for flight. Every time an airplane flies overhead, you look up. And now you are interested in being a part of Dayton Pilots’ Club. Here’s what we suggest your next steps be:
Check out our Facebook page. There you can read what we are posting and chatting about. You can see some of our members, their different backgrounds and life experiences, and begin to picture how wonderful our membership is and image yourself in our flying family.
2. Research our Club
Check out these two documents: the DPC Constitution and Bylaws and the DPC Flight and Operating Rules. Then you will understand why we have been around since 1958, and how we are organized to help our members pursue their love of flying.
3. Contact our Membership Chair
Andrew Sarangan can answer your questions, give you insight into the Club, and help you see how you can fly with Dayton Pilots’ Club. Contact Andrew at 937-438-0608 or email him at email@example.com.
4. Attend a Club Meeting
Dayton Pilots’ Club meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 PM in the classroom in the First Flight building at Dayton Wright Brothers Airport. There are snacks, interesting information about our aircraft and flying, safety seminars and tips, and of course, plenty of flying stories.
5. “Rusty Pilots Program”
Maybe it’s been a while since you have flown, and you’re just not sure how to get back. AOPA has a “Rusty Pilots Program” that can help you get back in the air. Also check out this story about one pilot who is back in the air after taking off 25 years!
Plus there is a wonderful publication from the FAA entitled, “Getting Back in the Game.“
6. Qualification and Financials
In order to join Dayton Pilots’ Club, you will need:
- Private Pilot’s License and Medical certificate with at least 100 hours of total logged time.
- A non-refundable Initiation Fee of $1,000.
